It’s possible that your ISP or router is having issues with DNS. You could switch your PC so it uses Google or OpenDNS instead of what’s provided by your ISP/router. If you are only having trouble at home but not at other locations, that could be the issue. You can potentially get around that by using a VPN. However, you shouldn’t have to go that far.

from the command shell can sometimes help find breaks. There are probably more sophisticated ways of doing something similar that I am unaware of.

Our provider is Verizon, and it uses FIOS. The router is a different piece of equipment from the box that connects to the fiber.

Of course, the web site is hosted somewhere else, by a hosting service.
